Our services
Three disciplines. One firm.
Each service area below is handled by practitioners who work in it regularly. Below you will find a detailed description of what each engagement involves, and what to expect.
← Back to HomeOur Approach
Understand
We begin by listening carefully to your situation before forming a view. No two matters are the same, and assumptions made too early often lead work in the wrong direction.
Advise clearly
Our assessment of your matter is delivered plainly, with realistic guidance on scope, options, timelines, and costs. You are equipped to make informed decisions at each stage.
Deliver
The work is completed to a consistent standard, with regular progress updates and a deliverable — whether a court outcome, a filed return, or a workable compliance framework — that serves your actual needs.
Service 01
Commercial Litigation
Quorum Stead represents clients in civil disputes arising from business transactions, contractual breaches, shareholder disagreements, and commercial torts before the Malaysian courts. The service begins with a thorough assessment of the matter and a review of available evidence.
Pre-trial management — including discovery, mediation, and settlement discussions — is handled with the aim of resolving matters efficiently where that is in your interest. If proceedings become necessary, we provide full representation through hearing and judgment. Clients receive regular written updates and cost estimates throughout.
What this service covers
- Initial case assessment and evidence review
- Strategic planning and pre-trial preparation
- Discovery management and document handling
- Mediation and settlement negotiations
- Full court representation if trial is required
Service 02
Company Secretarial Services
Statutory compliance for companies registered in Malaysia under the Companies Act 2016. Our retainer service manages the ongoing administrative obligations that directors are legally required to fulfil — without requiring your time or a full-time in-house resource.
We maintain your statutory registers, prepare and file annual returns with SSM, prepare resolutions for standard changes, and monitor all filing deadlines on your behalf. Proactive reminders are issued ahead of each deadline so nothing is inadvertently missed.
What this service covers
- Maintenance of statutory registers under the Companies Act 2016
- Preparation and filing of annual returns with SSM
- Resolutions for director, shareholder, and address changes
- Registered address maintenance where required
- Proactive deadline monitoring and reminders
Service 03
Data Protection & Privacy Advisory
Helping organisations understand and meet their obligations under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. The advisory is structured around a gap analysis that identifies where current practices may fall short of statutory requirements, followed by practical recommendations your team can act on.
Deliverables include template notices, consent forms, privacy policies, and internal process guidance. The engagement is typically completed within 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the complexity of your data processing activities. Suitable for organisations handling customer data, employee records, or operating digital platforms in Malaysia.
What this service covers
- PDPA 2010 gap analysis against current practices
- Consent management and data subject rights review
- Cross-border transfer and security obligations
- Template privacy notices and consent forms
- Internal policy and process guidance documentation

Professional Standards
Applied consistently across all three service areas
Confidentiality and privilege
All client communications are treated as confidential. Legal professional privilege applies to all advice-related communications and is not waived.
Scope agreed before commencement
The scope of work and associated fees are agreed in writing before any substantive work begins. Changes to scope are discussed and documented.
Regular client updates
Progress updates are provided at meaningful stages of every engagement. Clients are not left waiting without information.
Conflict checks performed
A conflict of interest check is conducted before each new engagement is accepted. We do not act where our duties to existing clients would be compromised.
